Privacy notice

How the Fundación handles the personal data of online buyers.

In compliance with Mexico's General Law on the Protection of Personal Data Held by Obligated Parties and the corresponding law of the State of Quintana Roo, the Fundación de Parques y Museos de Cozumel, Quintana Roo ("the Fundación") issues this privacy notice.

Data controller

The Fundación de Parques y Museos de Cozumel, Quintana Roo, located at Avenida Pedro Joaquín Coldwell No. 70, between Avenida Juárez and 1a Sur, Colonia Centro, 77600 Cozumel, Quintana Roo, Mexico, is responsible for the personal data you provide through cozumelparks.com.

Personal data we collect

  • Buyer identification and contact: name, email address and phone number.
  • Purchase data: park and product, visit date, number and type of guests (adult, child, infant), amounts, booking number, payment status and redemption record at the ticket office (date, time and park).
  • Payment data: your card is entered directly on the Stripe payment platform. The Fundación does not receive or store your full card number or security code; it keeps only the card brand, the last four digits and the charge reference, for receipts and billing questions.
  • Invoicing data, only if you request a Mexican tax invoice (CFDI): name or company name, RFC, tax address, tax regime, CFDI use and email address.
  • Browsing data: technical information needed for the site to work (selected language and purchase session). Visit measurement tools are only enabled if you accept them in the cookie notice.

We do not collect sensitive personal data.

Purposes

Necessary purposes (required to complete your purchase):

  1. Process your purchase and charge its amount.
  2. Generate and send your digital voucher with a unique booking number and QR code.
  3. Validate and redeem your voucher at the park ticket office and prevent duplicate use.
  4. Handle questions, billing issues, changes or cancellations under the Purchase Terms and Conditions.
  5. Issue a tax invoice when you request one.
  6. Meet the Fundación's accounting, tax and transparency obligations.

Additional purposes (not required for your purchase):

  1. Send you information about promotions and new Cozumel Parks experiences.
  2. Invite you to answer satisfaction surveys or leave a review of your visit.

Your data is only used for these additional purposes if you authorize it by checking the corresponding box when buying or when subscribing to the newsletter. You can withdraw your authorization at any time by emailing reservas@cozumelparks.org with the subject "No marketing", or on the newsletter unsubscribe page. Not authorizing it does not affect your purchase.

Legal basis

The Fundación processes personal data under articles 23, 25 and 30 of the Quintana Roo Law on the Protection of Personal Data Held by Obligated Parties; articles 41, 42 (sections II, III, V, VIII and XI), 131 and 133 of the Quintana Roo Transparency and Access to Public Information Law; and article 19 (section XIII) of the Fundación's Internal Regulations.

Transfers

We do not transfer personal data, except when required by a competent authority through a duly founded and reasoned request.

To run online sales, the Fundación relies on providers that process data on the Fundación's behalf and only for the purposes above: the payment platform (Stripe), the website hosting service and the email service used to send vouchers.

Your rights (ARCO and portability)

You may exercise your rights of access, rectification, cancellation and opposition (ARCO), as well as data portability, before the Fundación's Transparency Unit at Avenida Pedro Joaquín Coldwell No. 70, Colonia Centro, 77600 Cozumel, Quintana Roo; through Mexico's National Transparency Platform (https://www.plataformadetransparencia.org.mx); or by email at unidaddeenlace@cozumelparks.org.

Remedies

If a request to exercise your rights is denied or not answered, you may file the review appeal provided for in article 86 of the General Law and articles 101 to 128 of the Quintana Roo law. If you detect any misuse of your data, you may file a complaint with the Quintana Roo Transparency Institute (IQTP).

Any change to this notice will be published on this page and at the Fundación's Transparency Unit.
